College freshman Koel Henshaw is trying to enjoy his last few months of freedom before his summer is taken over by a looming surgery for a surprise—and now chronic—health condition. A year ago, Koel’s life changed when he woke up on the floor of his high school calculus class. Since then, he’s been trying to carry on as usual, including moving to Wisconsin to attend college as planned. Having to give up his college football career, Koel also gives up getting locked down in a relationship before his surgery so he is able to focus on getting back to the person he was a year ago.
One night, he meets Ryann and finds himself unable to walk away from the chance of being around her. Ryann is equally allured by Koel, but doesn’t know anything about his health condition or upcoming summer plans in the hospital. Their relationship is off to a whirlwind start, but will Koel be successful at keeping her at arm’s length until September, when he returns to college? Will their fledgling relationship be able to endure the ups and downs of a long-distance romance and Koel’s medical setbacks?
