The Story...
U.S. Army Intelligence Specialist Riverlynn Reed spends most of her life overthinking things. When her nine-hour drive home for holiday leave turns into a Midwest road trip meet cute, she'll have to stop analyzing every possibility and start taking a few chances.
Corporal Price Coppinger has always been the one people leave behind. Protective, dependable, and quietly battling his own insecurities, he's learned not to expect anyone to stay. But after meeting shy, never-been-kissed River, he finds himself wanting more than a brief holiday connection. However, their leave is running out, and an overseas assignment will take River away before either of them can discover what this spark between them really means.
Armed with a dragon egg talisman, an aging Pontiac Firebird, and a growing collection of inside jokes, River and Price set off through snow-covered highways and small-town detours. Between winter storms, roadblocks, and unexpected U-turns, they discover that the best journeys aren't about reaching the destination—they're about finding the right person to sit in the passenger seat.
